Earl's Court Painters & Decorators
The decisions behind a well-resolved finish.
A successful decorating instruction makes the important decisions visible. The room or elevation, the people using it and the existing surface condition should all inform what is agreed.
Discuss your project
Begin with the purpose and the property
Explain the change you want: a new interior colour scheme, a shared entrance in need of renewal, a rental handover or an exterior repaint. Include the address, photographs and occupation. The first discussion can then focus on the questions that need answering at the property.
Inspect before fixing the specification
Assess the accessible surfaces and record defects that need further attention. Decide which repairs belong within the proposed work and which require a separate instruction. Establish known heritage controls, building rules and the authority to commission the work at this stage.
Turn the preferred finish into a record
Choose sample locations that show the scheme beside retained materials and under the relevant light. Keep the accepted colour, product and sheen with the surface schedule. Identify preparation methods and any approved variation so the finish can be communicated precisely.
Agree how the work will be accommodated
Set out room release, access, storage, protection and the expected sequence. Build in decisions by others, any licence or consent, and the time needed before surfaces return to use. An occupied stair, a vacant studio and a guest room each need their own arrangements.
Check the result and retain the details
Review the instructed surfaces with the appointed client representative and record any outstanding item. Coordinate cleaning and reinstatement with the final stages. Keep the agreed finish references accessible to the owner or managing agent for the building's next maintenance cycle.
Arrange an Earl's Court repaint
A room, a staircase,
a whole elevation.
Start with the part of the property you want to change. Add who occupies it, when it can be released and whether a managing agent or freeholder needs to approve the work.
Tell us what you have in mind
Please include the SW5 address, the rooms or exterior elements and your proposed timing.
